Morris Museum seeks a part- time shop assistant manager. The primary role of the assistant manager is to provide customers with a unique shopping experience by developing and motivating staff and volunteers to provide the highest level of customer service and maximize sales. Duties include assisting the store manager in effectively carrying out the day-to-day operations of the store, supervising staff and volunteers, and executing visual merchandising standards while promoting and maintaining a positive work environment. In the absence of the store manager, the assistant manager will take responsibility for overseeing all aspects of the day-to-day operations.
Candidate must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and possibly some evenings. This part time position is typically 20-25 hours per week.

Morris Museum is seeking a full-time museum preparator for the Exhibitions Department. Duties include assistance with installations and de-installations of all museum exhibitions; constructing museum mounts and other miscellaneous exhibition furniture; maintaining exhibitions studio for routine maintenance of supplies. Candidate must have carpentry and basic electrical skills and be adept at working with art and other museum objects. Previous museum or gallery experience is preferred. Salary commensurate with experience. 403B and traditional benefits.

Morris Museum is looking for friendly, outgoing people to help in our new Museum Shop. Position includes assisting shoppers of all ages, particularly school children during a.m. hours. Other tasks involve pricing new merchandise, stocking and straightening displays. Something is always happening at the museum. Looking for technicians and interns. At least one year experience in theater craft is necessary. Internship can lead to paid jobs. All paid work is part time on a show specific basis. Hourly rates are from $8-$15/hour depending on experience. Internship schedules are individually arranged.
Sets are made in our own well equipped scene shop and VectorWorks Spotlight and Lightwright are the software standards at the Bickford. Our lighting inventory of over 200 instruments and 120 dimmers allows for a lot of creative flexibility in lighting design. Sound and video are the fastest growing technical areas of the theater.
An internship at the Bickford Theatre will involve cross training in all areas of theater craft. Hands on training will be backed by instruction in the science of the craft. Safety, teamwork, and courtesy are emphasized and required at all times. If you're not afraid of hard work and a lot of fun, we're looking for you.

Work independently and assist our Admissions Associate in greeting all visitors to the Museum and Bickford Theatre. This includes processing admissions and answering phones. Interested candidates must be reliable, comfortable using computers, friendly and enthusiastic. Flexible hours may include occasional weekends and evenings.

The Morris Museum is seeking volunteers for our educational workshops. Workshop volunteers lead family-friendly workshops for children of all ages, assist with art projects and refill supplies. Program times and dates vary.

The Morris Museum is seeking individuals who would be interested in volunteering their time in the School Loan Department. The School Loan Department lends out boxed exhibits, which are fun, educational and hands-on, to area schools, assisted living facilities and libraries. A variety of activities occur in this area of the museum and there are many tasks that need to be performed daily. Help is needed to answer the phone, take new orders, check out boxes, check in returned boxes, and make and repair boxes. Some of our volunteers enjoy using their computer skills to type labels and letters. Others like to do research on our new exhibit boxes. If you would like to learn new skills and if you enjoy meeting the public, we invite you to join us. We are open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays between 9 AM - 5PM. Shifts of 4 or 5 hours would be helpful.
