Casting

The Bickford Theatre at the Morris Museum will hold EPAs for its upcoming season on Thursday, August 17th and Friday, August 18th from 10am to 2pm.  Sign-up both days will begin at 9am.

An accompanist will be provided on Friday.  There will not be an accompanist on Thursday.  Actors are asked to prepare two contrasting contemporary monologues of three to four minutes in total.  If singing on Friday, actors are asked to prepare one song (32-bars) that best displays their vocal range and one contemporary monologue not to exceed 2 minutes.  Non-traditional casting is supported.

Maude Gutman– 50-60; an unemployed bartender; sexy; rough around the edges; good comic timing.

Lionel Percy– 60’s; elegant; sophisticated although can come off pompous.

Man (30’s-40’s) – Plays various characters including a husband bored with his marriage, an eccentric director.

Man (20’s-30’s) – Plays various characters including a cheating husband, a needy actor.

Woman (30’s-40’s) – Plays various roles including a wife hell bent on killing her husband, a bossy soap opera star.

Woman (20’s-30’s) – Plays various roles including a trophy wife, an actor who thinks she better then she really is.

 

A Dog Story

Perfs:  April 12, 2018 to April 22, 2018; Rehearsals begin:  March 27, 2018

Roland– 30’s; tenor; an attorney, nerdy but attractive. workaholic, goal oriented, and smart, a good heart but very uneasy with attractive women.

Guy– 30’s; bari-tenor; Roland’s best buddy; a legend in his own mind with women, sex on the brain, good-natured, probable popular and successful high school jock.

Miranda– early 20’s; belter with soft/sweet low range; a dog trainer, tomboyish in appearance, takes her job very seriously, doesn’t much care if people are offended by her spiky, no-nonsense manner, dogs loved-people tolerated.

Blair– 20’s; soprano, a hedge fund manager, very bright, gorgeous and sultry, ambitious workaholic who, at her young age, has risen very quickly in high-level financial circles.
