The Music Box Makers  by Jean-Claude Piguet  –  $10.00

 

Translated and published by the Musical Box Society International, this 332 page, hardbound book tells the story surrounding what is known as the “cradle” of the Swiss musical box industry. The author gives you a detailed account of the businesses as well as the social impact in that region of the Jura mountains, from the early 1800’s to current day.

The Morris Museum is pleased to announce the publication of a fully illustrated catalog for its permanent exhibition, Musical Machines and Living Dolls: The Murtogh D. Guinness Collection of Mechanical Musical Instruments and AutomataThe 144 page catalog, which features 138 photographic images (119 full color) and over 20 illustrations, was written by Ellen M. Snyder-Grenier, former curator of the Guinness Collection, and includes an essay by Arthur W.J.G. Ord-Hume, director & senior archivist, Library of Mechanical Music and Horology, Guildford, Surrey, England.
