The Morris Museum is proud to share our newly created weekly thematic art classes. Each week has a specific focus inspired by an exhibition at the museum or the world outside our walls.

These dynamic and unique classes will be offered for 4 weeks this summer. Don’t miss out on this enriching and engaging opportunity for your child. Due to the variety of media and projects offered week to week, return students are welcome!

Voices in Art 
Dates: Monday, July 11-Friday, July, 15 from 3:00 – 4:30 PM

Inspired by the exhibition, For the Culture, By the Culture: 30 Years of Black Art, Activism, and Achievement. Students will learn to hear unique voices and understand different perspectives through experiencing art from a variety of people and places. Then, they will find and share their own voices through a variety of projects!

Kinetic Kids 
Dates: July 18-22
M-F 3:00-4:30pm

Inspired by the exhibition, Timeless Movements: A Cache of Kinetic Art. Students will connect art, sound, motion, science and engineering to create their own moving masterpieces after touring the exhibition.

Mini Masterpieces 
Dates: July 25-29
M-F 3:00-4:30pm

Inspired by the masterful artworks in our permanent collection and beyond! Students will learn about famous artists, the styles they are known for and the techniques that they used. Then they will create their own mini masterpieces.

Art in Nature 
Dates: August 1-5
M-F 3:00-4:30pm

Inspired by the art all around you in nature! Students will visit the Morris Museum’s outdoor sculptures and take inspiration from the great outdoors to create artwork using natural and fine art materials.
