Body Double expands from the gallery to the stage with a new performance art piece, Merge with Me. In this work, the Safarani Sisters team up with choreographer Yamini Kalluri to create a movement-based piece exploring the themes of borders, unity, and society. Choreographed to a soundscape by Navid Eskandar, the performance is done in costumes and sculptures of the artists’ own making, inviting the audience to expand their limits to imagine a more peaceful universe. This one-time-only performance augments the works in the exhibition by bringing a deeper understanding of the artists’ work.
And, join us after for a post-show discussion about this new work and the role performance plays in their artistic practice.
