Special Installation: Monarch Sanctuary
In celebration of Earth Day (April 22), the Morris Museum presents the installation Monarch Sanctuary—a proposal for a habitable urban structure for migrating monarch butterflies whose wild populations are being wiped out by climate change. The project, originally created by New York City design and architecture firm Terreform ONE for the 2019 Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum Triennial: Nature, is sponsored by BASF Corporation.
