Critical Praise for Orpheus Chamber Orchestra

Performed with edge-of-the-seat intensity.

The New York Times

About the Performer

The Turkish composer-pianist Fazıl Say is “all exuberance” (The New York Times) when he takes the stage with Orpheus. His own Silk Road navigates his homeland’s place at the intersection of the West and the East, and a favorite Mozart concerto finds this fellow composer-pianist at his most open-hearted and ebullient. Tchaikovsky’s First String Quartet, propelled by spirited dance rhythms and poignant folksongs, blooms into a resplendent Chamber Symphony in this arrangement for Orpheus by Christopher Theofanidis.

This performance will include works by Mozart, Tchaikovsky & Fazil Say.
