STEM and the Art of the Trumpet (Lecture Only)
Wednesday, December 19, 2018, 2:00PM

The trumpet is a glorious musical instrument, but the sounds it produces are rooted in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) of its construction. This talk will turn sound into numbers, and back again. Dr. Cleveland Johnson, Executive Director of the Morris Museum and Professor Emeritus of Music of DePauw University, brings his extensive college-teaching experience to offer this STEM perspective on our special exhibit Trumpets, Weird and Wonderful: Treasures from the National Music Museum.
