Kick off your long weekend with an exciting day of art, performance, and invention. Family Folktale Day begins with a feature presentation of Stone Soup performed by the Pushcart Player in the Bickford Theatre at 11:30 AM. There will be a second showing at 2:00 PM.
Dynamic, participatory and filled with zesty entertainment, “Stone Soup…” is on the gourmet “not to be missed” list for young viewers! Pushcart Players is an award-winning, professional touring theater company specializing in arts in education for children.
Continue the day exploring our galleries that include Native American art, photos of Rock N’ Roll legends, and Dinosaurs! Make sure to pick up a timed ticket for the Smithsonian Spark!Lab and join in on the hands-on challenge of inventing.
Advance ticket purchase is recommended. Theatre capacity is limited to 312 and all patrons must be ticketed to attend the performance of Stone Soup. All theatre tickets include the related craft activity station, Spark!Lab, and museum entry.
Note: Spark!Lab is open from Noon to 4 PM. Masks are optional for children’s theater performances.
