Join The Princeton Singers for a unique collaboration with exhibiting artist James Prosek, whose depictions of the natural world serve as the inspiration for an evening of music and art. Featuring choral works that celebrate nature’s beauty and interconnectedness, this concert weaves together Prosek’s stunning visuals with The Princeton Singers’ evocative sound, creating a powerful multisensory experience. Together, we explore themes of renewal, transformation, and the profound harmony of art and nature. This performance takes place in the Pavilion and seating is unassigned.

A special viewing of the exhibition James Prosek: At Work will take place directly after the performance, and copies of Prosek’s latest book, Grasslands (Rizzoli) will be available for purchase.

The Morris Museum thanks Will and Mary Leland for their support of this program.

About the Princeton Singers

The Princeton Singers celebrates forty-one years of music making this season. Led by conductor-composer Steven Sametz, now in his 26th year as Artistic Director, The Princeton Singers has presented programs from medieval chant to Renaissance masters, from Aboriginal ritual music to Igbe chanting and Arab-Andalusian muwashahat, headlining festivals in China, Great Britain, and the US. Their Christmas specials are a featured part of the holiday programming of the WWFM Classical network.

The ensemble’s innovative programming is often on display at the Princeton University Art Museum, pairing Rothko paintings with music of György Ligeti, Jasper Johns with John Cage, Baroque German art with music of Heinrich Schütz, and photography from India with choral music accompanied by tanpura and tabla. Whatever the repertoire, the Singers have been hailed as “masterful choral singers” with a “rich vocal color” and “flowing choral tone.”
