Ever find yourself in a museum, staring at an artwork label, and wondering, “What actually is gouache?” or “How does silverpoint work?” If you are curious about the “ingredients” behind your favorite gallery pieces, this workshop is for you.
We’re going “backstage” to meet the materials. This is a hands-on introduction to art materials—from the earthy smudge of charcoal and the delicate sheen of silverpoint to the translucent glow of egg tempera and buttery texture of oil paints.
This one-day workshop, offered on three days, is designed specifically for art lovers and museum-goers who are ready to get their hands a little smudgy. Absolutely no prior art experience is required—just an open mind and a bit of curiosity!
