Carolyn Dorfman Dance celebrates 40 years as a bold, athletic and dramatic force in New Jersey’s burgeoning dance landscape with Dance on Exhibit, an evening of dance on display in a gallery setting followed by performances of some of her most iconic works on stage.
Viewers will be able to experience ‘dance in the round’ as they stroll by dancers performing atop platforms as kinetic statues. This two-night-only event poses an unusual opportunity to see Dorfman’s work up close and deconstructed as well as on stage.
Each ticket is general admission and includes up to two drinks at the complimentary wine-bar during the gallery portion of the evening.
Featured works at the Bickford Theatre will include poignant excerpts from Carolyn’s Legacy Project that explores her Jewish heritage, such as Echad, the Klezmer Sketch, and Cat’s Cradle. Excerpts from other prominent works include selections fromLifeline, Keystone, Dance/Stories, Living Room Music, Love Suite Love, Sextet, Cercle d’Amour, Waves, and her newest work, The Attitude of Doing, set to the exquisite music of Regina Carter which premiered in November 2022.
