This interactive concert for young audiences features flute, violin, viola, and cello, introducing children to the instruments and exploring how chamber musicians listen, communicate, and create music together.

As Carnegie Hall’s Affiliate Ensemble, Decoda brings together virtuoso chamber musicians with extensive experience creating engaging, interactive performances in schools and a variety of community settings.

Repertoire includes:

• Mozart — Flute Quartet in D Major, K. 285
• Valerie Coleman — Maombi Asante
• Andrew Norman — Light Screens
• Danish Traditional — Five Sheep, Four Goats
• J. S. Bach — Cantata, BWV 39: III. Aria

This approximately 60-minute concert combines performance with conversation, musical demonstrations, and audience participation. Through music ranging from Bach and Mozart to composers of today, Decoda invites young listeners to explore different sounds, musical ideas, and the collaborative nature of chamber music.

This is a co-presentation with Lyrica Chamber Music.
