On Site Research

If you are a researcher who wishes to visit the Edgerton Library, please contact us to make an appointment. Be sure to include your name, address, institutional affiliation and purpose of your research. Requests for on-site research are typically scheduled for 4-6 weeks in advance.

Online Research

Please access this page and use the online “Search the Library” capability (scroll down on opening page) to search by keyword, term, author or catalog entry number.

For those who cannot visit the Edgerton Library for in-person research, museum staff can be made available to access desired items from the library catalog and answer research questions by becoming a Morris Museum member.

Membership fees (with ID’s):

Student $20.00Teacher $30.00Senior (65+) $45.00Adult $60.00

• Morris Museum members’ questions are answered, and up to 10 scans are provided without charge. There will however be a $2.00 per page charge for requests for scans that exceed 10 pages.
• Page scanning service is provided for non-copyright materials only.
• Any library sourced material(s) used for future publication(s) are required to acknowledge and credit the “Morris Museum & Edgerton Library of Mechanical Music” for same, as well as provide two (2) copies of said publication to the Edgerton Library at the Morris Museum
• To submit a research request, please send your email to collections@morrismuseum.org.

All Research Requests must include:

• Your name, email and/or mailing address, and phone number.
• Your Morris Museum membership number.
• The Designation, Number, Author & Publication Date of the item(s) that you need pulled & have looked at.
• The subject, aspect, or image(s) that you’re looking for.

Additional Information:

• The Edgerton Library catalog is updated about every 6 months with new additions.
• Financial donations in support of the Edgerton Library are welcome. Donations can be made here or by check to:
