Dinosaurs, fossils, and more take you on a journey through the ancient history of Planet Earth.
Discover the history and some of the mysteries of Planet Earth in this exhibition, where the natural sciences help us understand the world in which we live.
Digging Dinosaurs
Journey back in time to the Age of Dinosaurs! Touch a real dinosaur egg, follow dinosaur tracks, and hear the simulated sound of a honking Hadrosaur. Using fossils and other clues—such as footprints, fossilized eggs, and dinosaur teeth—you’ll learn about the massive reptiles that roamed the earth 65 million years ago, and what New Jersey looked like when they were alive.
Fossils Tell the Tale
Fossils reveal the history of life on earth, from organisms that lived billions of years ago to modern times. In this exhibit you’ll see fascinating fossils of different life forms that thrived through the eons.
Rocks and Minerals
See a spectacular oversized amethyst geode, petrified wood that’s millions of years old, and other specimens from around the world in the Morris Museum’s geological collection, considered one of the best in New Jersey.
Learn about the three different types of rock (igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic), the mineralogical profile of our state, and more.
