Go behind the curtain with New Jersey Ballet Artistic Director Maria Kowroski for an intimate evening of conversation, performance, and artistic discovery.

Join us at the Morris Museum as Maria Kowroski shares insights into New Jersey Ballet’s upcoming 2026–2027 season and reflects on the experiences that have shaped her artistic vision. A former principal dancer with New York City Ballet for more than 25 years, Kowroski performed many of the most celebrated works in the classical and contemporary ballet repertoire while working closely with some of the world’s leading choreographers and artistic innovators.

Through conversation and live performance excerpts by New Jersey Ballet artists, audiences will gain a unique perspective on the creative process behind building a season, selecting repertory, nurturing dancers, and honoring ballet’s rich traditions while embracing new artistic voices.

The program will feature selections from George Balanchine’s spirited Stars & Stripes Pas de Deux, Penny Saunders’ acclaimed Sur le Fil, and additional works that highlight the breadth and versatility of New Jersey Ballet’s repertory.

Whether you are a lifelong ballet enthusiast or discovering the art form for the first time, Ballet Insider offers a rare opportunity to experience ballet from the inside out and to hear directly from one of America’s most distinguished dance artists as she leads New Jersey Ballet into its next chapter.
